Making Money Online with . . . How I Started

Making money online is something I’ve always known about, and also knew that some people were getting rich with online businesses. I started out on the internet with the goal of starting a website to sell the jewelry I make. I had been selling my cool necklaces quite successfully to all my friends and acquaintances, but that market soon started to dry up. One day I decided to reach more people by placing pictures of my jewelry on my Facebook page, and I did get quite a few more sales and a lot of interest. So, I decided to create a website to see if I could start making money online selling my jewelry. Like everything I find on the internet, I approached cautiously as to protect myself from scams, and spams.

Starting from scratch with very little money, I found a company that gave me website building tools and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tips along with a keyword research tool. I dug right in and also learned how to take good quality macro pictures of my necklaces to post, named them and wrote out descriptions. The one thing I could have done better was to utilize one of the many shopping cart systems available. I could have saved hours of time, but instead I chose to save the $30 per month and tagged each item individually with PayPal buttons.

While I was in the process of building my site, I decided to try out my necklaces on eBay, since I already had some great pictures ready to use on the web. I did sell quite a few necklaces there, but I arrived at a time when eBay was going through some policy changes, and many Power Sellers and store owners were complaining in the forum, and about low sales due to the economy. I wanted to open a store of my own, but with so many others griping and closing up their shops, I stayed away.

So now I’ve got a website, so what? Without traffic to my site, nobody will see it to buy anything... looks like research time again. I Googled ‘website traffic’ and similar terms, and I found tons of places and ways to purchase traffic. Again my intention being making money online, not spending it, so I soon added the word ‘free’ in front of my searches. This is how I found out about the free traffic exchanges, where one views others ads to earn credits to show your own. I saw people advertising all manner of sites, but mostly systems for making money online, and that my friends, is how I bumped into the wonderful world of affiliate marketing.

Very many of the flashy splash pages these companies used appeared to me to be too good to be true. One page that I saw stood out from the crowd and had a sincerity about it that was refreshing. It was a pre sell page for the Acme People Search program.

Imagine a free search engine of my own with which to earn commissions. Well like most businesses online, to really make money one will eventually want their own website. And APS is not different; it actually gives people a reason to get their own website to host their People Search Engine. Now here’s the part I just loved, the web host I was introduced to was GDI, Global Domains International. They offer a basic web and domain name hosting package for only $10 per month, but the best part is they pay you commissions not only on your referrals, but everyone that they refer as well, five levels deep.

Now I’ve been around the block a couple of times and tried a couple of mlm opportunities in the past without much luck, though I did believe in their products. Still, on the internet it’s a whole different game. No more bugging everyone you know to try the business or product, simply advertise that same People Search pre sell page that I saw, to others who are interested in making money online, and start earning some of that residual income for life.

Upgrade to Maximize Income

I have since upgraded my People Search Engine and take part in all of the business opportunities it has to offer, including signing up for Wealthy Affiliate University using Tissa’s link in order to get my Super Affiliate Switch flipped. Bram’s site, 10 Years of Traffic is another splash page that actually gives away free web traffic to those that take a look at your business opportunity, which is New Rich with GVO.

Tissa has truly removed any obstacles from my path now and the only thing that can prevent me from making money online is me, and that’s not going to happen.

So basically there’s two different sites whose affiliate links you can promote in order to refer others to GDI and GVO, two solid and reputable companies that provide internet marketing tools for any business, and both pay monthly residual commissions plus bonuses to their affiliates that can share these tools, opportunities, or both to others interested in making money online.
